Our trip to Laos was part of a multi-month trip to Southeast Asia, so the travel itinerary to Laos, it can be said that it would be within a travel itinerary of more countries. The countries we visited were Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Sri Lanka Y Nepal.
We came to Laos from Thailand. The starting point of this trip to Laos was the Thai city of Chiang mai. As almost always, we did not take anything prepared, we only knew that we wanted to visit Luang Prabang and get there on a boat trip on the mythical Mekong River.
The Thai border town is Chiang khong.
We had already visited the Mekong Delta in Vietnam, and in northern Thailand, the so-called Golden triangle. Famous border between Thailand, Laos and Myanmar especially for the opium trade in distant times.
Maybe it was a little shorter than expected, but around the time we visited, October, going to the national parks in the northern mountains was not the best idea, so we decided to enjoy the tranquility of the 4000 islands.
